Vehicle head unit -- APK sideload queue
13.6" Android head unit needs Whim.m and Whim.v APKs loaded. Currently using ONN 500GB USB drive connected to the unit. ADB bridge needed for clean sideload.
  • 2 APKs pending: Whim.m (companion) + Whim.v (vehicle dash)
  • 4G connectivity in development -- antenna + SIM not yet provisioned
  • Driveway WiFi range is the current push channel for phones/tablets

Device fleet status
  • PC (CARRAMint): Hub online. Ollama running DeepSeek R1:32B. All services nominal.
  • Galaxy S22: Primary mobile. Whim.m installed. Tailscale connected.
  • Galaxy S9: Secondary mobile. Needs Whim.m update via driveway WiFi push.
  • Lenovo Tablet: Consider installing Whim Terminal (lite, fewer tabs) alongside Whim.m.
  • Vehicle Head Unit: USB-connected ONN drive. Awaiting ADB sideload for APKs.

Connectivity and file push strategy
Current method for pushing APKs and configs to mobile devices is via driveway WiFi range from the PC. USB direct is used for phones/tablets docked at the desk. The vehicle head unit requires a different approach -- either USB OTG from the ONN drive or ADB over WiFi once 4G is provisioned.
  • Driveway WiFi: works for S22, S9, tablet when in range
  • USB at desk: direct ADB push for APKs, configs, voice refs
  • Vehicle: ONN 500GB USB is the bridge until 4G goes live
  • VPS tunnel: cross-network fallback for Whim.m when off-LAN
